We Loved The Tour So Much We Are Going Again
Just a note to let you know how much we enjoyed the trip through Piedmont district with Wine and food traveller.
We liked the idea of staying at the one hotel in Cherasco and not having to shift each day.
Hotel Somaschi was very good with excellent staff.
We can't say enough about Livio probably the best guide we have ever had with a wealth of knowledge about Italy. The places he took us we would have never found on our own. Nothing was a problem to him as he changed the tour to suit the weather and our needs. (We are fairly easy to please!)
We really enjoyed all the Osterias that we visited to sample the local food and wine.
Meeting the local people was a real highlight of the trip with the outstanding one being when we visited the kitchen while the family were preparing the meals for the restaurant.
That was a thoroughly enjoyable morning then to stay and have lunch was an excellent day.
I never thought that we would put visiting a university on our itinerary but Livio made that visit a very interesting day and that is where we learnt about "Slow Food" not fast food. Also Eatitaly another successful corporation we had never heard of.
It is difficult to say which was the highlight as Livio made each day another adventure.
This is the sort of trip that we love. Getting away from the cities and experiencing the country and small villages.
We are already recommending this trip to our friends and looking at planing another one to the south of Italy and Sicily.
