Our Puglia Wine & Food Tour

A curated journey through southern Italy’s wine, food, coastal towns, and timeless villages.

This itinerary is designed for travellers who want to experience Puglia through its flavours, landscapes, and local traditions, with a relaxed pace and carefully selected regional highlights from Lecce to Matera.

Day 1 — Welcome to Lecce | 14 October

Arrive at Brindisi Airport and enjoy a private transfer to your accommodation in Lecce, with property details to be confirmed.

After check-in, gather for a relaxed welcome dinner in Lecce’s old town, featuring traditional local flavours. Meals: Dinner.

Day 2 — Cooking in Puglia & Lecce | 15 October

After breakfast, join a hands-on cooking class with local hosts before a private walking tour of Lecce, known for its elegant Baroque architecture. Dinner is at leisure. Meals: Breakfast and lunch.

Day 3 — The Salento Riviera: Gallipoli & Otranto | 16 October

Discover the southern Salento coast with visits to Otranto and Gallipoli, two atmospheric seaside towns known for historic lanes, Mediterranean colour, and coastal views. In Otranto, explore the old town, see the celebrated Tree of Life mosaic, and enjoy free time before lunch by the sea in Gallipoli. Return to Lecce for leisure time and dinner at your own pace. Meals: Breakfast and lunch.

Day 4 — Negroamaro Wine Country & Cheese Farm | 17 October

Spend the morning immersed in Puglia’s wine and cheese traditions, visiting a local winery and a family-run cheese farm. Learn directly from producers, taste fresh and aged cheeses, and enjoy a light lunch by the sea before returning to Lecce for leisure time. Meals: Breakfast and lunch.

Day 5 — Ostuni, Olive Oil Tasting & Polignano a Mare | 18 October

Travel into central Puglia and begin in Ostuni, the striking white city. En route, visit a historic olive oil estate for a tasting among centuries-old olive trees, then enjoy a light lunch and guided time through Ostuni’s whitewashed lanes before continuing to romantic Polignano a Mare. Check in at your second property, with details to be confirmed. Meals: Breakfast and lunch.

Day 6 — Alberobello & Cisternino | 19 October

Continue through the timeless towns of central Puglia with visits to Alberobello, famous for its trulli houses, and Cisternino, one of the region’s most charming hilltop villages. Enjoy a traditional light lunch during the day. Dinner is at leisure. Meals: Breakfast & lunch.

Day 7 — Coastal Boat Tour & Monopoli | 20 October

Begin the day at a relaxed pace, with time to enjoy your property before travelling to Monopoli.

Take a coastal boat tour to experience the beauty of the Adriatic shoreline, with an aperitif served on board.

Later, wander through Monopoli’s maze-like old town of white alleys and harbour views. Meals: Breakfast and light lunch.

Day 8 — Matera & the Sassi | 21 October

Travel to Matera for a distinctive day in Basilicata, exploring the ancient Sassi cave districts and the dramatic rock-hewn setting that makes the city so memorable.

Enjoy a private tour of the Sassi and a light lunch in the old town before returning for an evening at leisure. Meals: Breakfast and lunch.

 

Day 9 — Departure or Optional Slow Food Extension | 22 October



Transfer to Bari or Brindisi Airport for your onward journey.

Optional: stay on for a Slow Food experience at Antichi Sapori in Montegrosso, a renowned culinary destination. Enquire for more information if interested.
