Sicily Festivals (Sep–Nov)

There are a wealth of festivals in Sicily and we are coming into the high season for Sagre's. With a bit of luck, and some planning, our forthcoming wine and food tour will coincide with a few of these events. Etna should be happening and chances are we will come across some more Sagra dell’Uva as we travel round the island, as harvest celebrations will be well under way.

If you’re planning a Sicily trip beyond summer, the island’s festival calendar stays busy well into autumn. This guide highlights recurring festivals and sagre that typically take place from September to November — perfect follow-ons to the cultural energy of Segesta.

September in Sicily

• Cous Cous Fest (San Vito Lo Capo, Trapani area) — food + music celebrating Mediterranean couscous.

• Sagra dell’Uva / grape harvest events (various towns) — tastings, parades, and harvest celebrations.

October in Sicily

• Ottobrata Zafferanese (Zafferana Etnea, Mt Etna) — weekend food festival (chestnuts, mushrooms, honey, local produce).

• Sagre del pistacchio (Bronte area) — pistachio-focused tastings and street food (often autumn).

November in Sicily

• All Saints / All Souls traditions (early November, island-wide) — markets, sweets, and local commemorations.

• New olive oil celebrations (various towns) — frantoi open days, tastings, and harvest meals.
